Six White Men

Men make up 49% of the U.S. population. Women make up 51%.

White men make up 30% of the U.S. population; but they hold 62% of all elected offices.

People of color hold 13% of elected offices; despite making up 40% of the U.S. population.

A Gallup poll suggests that 45% of U.S. citizens identified as Republican, 44% as Democrat.

Being generous, White Republican men make up about 1/3 of the U.S. population.

Yet, five White Republican men, each leaders of the “five families” or varying caucuses (Problem Solvers Caucus, Republican Governance Group, Republican Main Street Caucus, Republican Study Committee, House Freedom Caucus) will work with Speaker McCarthy (also a White man) to craft bills that shape many aspects of life in America: guns, abortion, economic policy, social security, taxes, immigration, education, healthcare, the list goes on.

Six White men. Wait. WHAT?
